A Dream is a Wish the Heart Makes

A Dream is a Wish the Heart Makes ~ Cinderella

My Little girl asked me the other day what a dream was. This is the first answer that came to my mind. I couldn't explain it any other way to a 3 year old that would have made sense to her. To me however, a dream is slightly more complex. I was searching through my blog roll today and as always came upon Spell and the Gypsy. I have previously posted about this blog and I am sure that I will do so again. I am so inspired by this blog and this post is no different. The picture immediately caught my eye and brought my daughter's question straight back into my mind.
I consider myself a dreamer. I always have been. Dreaming of how I think life should be, dreaming of the future, dreaming of when things may be a little better. I feel like sometimes my mind doesn't make sense and that my living in my dreams and in the future is disrupting my present. Not living for the moment, the day and all that. This picture on Spell and the Gypsy spoke right to my dreams. The feeling of freedom. The peace of mind. That deep breath that I take when I see a picture that speaks to me like this. I can't really explain it, what it really is. A dream for things to be like it is in this picture. Organic (not in the food sense), free, easy, to know who you are in life and where you're going, not just having an idea of where you want to end up. I worry sometimes that I am lost. I don't know who "I" am anymore. That I've lost my path and I am unsure of how to find it again. I need to live more for today, take it an run with it and stop searching for some ideal that I dream will finally make me happy....

Feather Fetish

I am having a serious growing obsession with feathers at the moment. As I have said before I love the boho look. It's probably the style that I am as closely related to and identify to.

I have always loved that hippy style matching feathers with angel wings and things like homemade friendship bracelets made from coloured strings and hemp rope. All things natural and very relaxed.

Since this year's "Festival Fashion" contained so many feather pieces I have been sure to stock up like crazy while they were available, buying items such as headbands and different jewellery pieces. I even bought one necklace in Penneys with the intent to make something different, special and entirely unique from it with a little customization. I am truly obsessed with the feather hair extensions and have been searching the Internet for months for the perfect set. If you've got a serious case of feather fetish like I do check out the unbelievably stunning Castaway photo shoot over at Spell and the Gypsy. I look through this blog for simple inspiration and I love the feeling of being free that is depicted from their photos. I find it very peaceful.

I'll keep you up to day with my feather fetish and show you my creations once finished. Are feathers something that tickle your fancy? (Sorry that was bad, but I couldn't resist)

Everything's Rosy

As part of my Florals Trend I have really wanted to share these pictures from Cosmo Uk. The Floral Fantasy pictorial "Everything's Rosy" was in the March 2011 issue of Cosmopolitain Uk Magazine and from the moment I laid eyes on it way back in FebruaryI was sure that I wanted to feature it here as a Blog post for those of you who may not have seen the mag or the pictures. There is something very Ethereal and just so stunningly beautiful, girly and innocent about the photos taken by Margaretha Olschewski. I am completely in awe of the genius behind the camera and of the gorgeous fashion by Sairey Stemp, the fashion editor of Cosmo Uk, which makes these models and the dresses they are wearing completely in tune with the surroundings. I am so inspired by this pictorial, everything from the sheer natural beauty of the models, Erin and Charlbi,  to the makeup and styling. With clothes from D&G (some more shown here), Monsoon, Jigsaw, Mulberry, River Island, Asos Salon, Guess by Marciano, H&M, Littlewoods and Paul & Joe and accessories from Cornelia James, Johnny loves Rosie and Johnathon Aston. I now want to go out and buy floral clothes, plant flowers in my garden and wear flowers in my hair. For your enjoyment....

Did anyone else see this Pictorial and find inspiration? Is there other Pictorials that have inspired you? I would love to know if there was something that stood out for you and remained in your mind as something special. What is your inspiration?

All Hail Queen B

I am a true lover of all things fabulous and am on a constant quest to find inspiration from those Fierce Women out there in the World. So I am just going to take a little moment to stop and really appreciate the Woman that is known as Queen B.

Seriously, I love her. I have seen her in concert and have followed her career since the first Destiny's Child Album was released. Her voice to me is the best in the World and her personality and graciousness outshines so many out there. She has been promoting her latest album "4" which I love,

And her first single from the album, Run the World,

and is currently on a press and promo tour following her record breaking headlining act in at the Glastonbury Festival last Sunday. She appeared Tuesday night on Piers Morgan's interview show for CNN, which I watched yesterday and again loved, all ahead of her upcoming trip to Oxygen in two weeks, which I am sickened I can't go to. Anyway I am in such awe and I am so seriously inspired and admire her so much that I wanted to shine the spotlight on her just a little more and do a post on all her seriously amazing promotional images

and magazine features for W magazine

And for Dazed & Confused Magazine.

The Woman is Amazing. So Fierce and High fashion and truly an inspiration to me and I'm sure many others out there. So I say, all hail Queen B. And check out this HOTTT performance on France's Xfactor Show. WOW!!!

What do ya'll think of B. Are you fans or not so much. For me she is most definitely a major style star and I love to see all the risks she takes through fashion and her individual style to me is unbelievably inspiring.

Rainy Dayz and Lazy Sundays

Today is one of those days, a day where the rain doesn't stop and it becomes a pyjama day. All previous plans have been shelved in exchange for the couch, a furry blanket and a steaming hot cup of tea. I decided this morning to take a look through my blog roll. And when I say a look, I mean a true look, read all the posts, look at all the fabulous pictures and really appreciate the world of blogging. Have you ever looked through all your favourite blogs and be so inspired that all you want to do is go straight to the shops and spend that money that's put away for a rainy day? Well today that is how I feel. Some of the blogs on my blog list are so amazing. They make me feel something for fashion that I haven't felt in a long time. They make the love grow and make me want to create more art in my own life, whether it's a fabulous outfit, a home made collection of beautiful statement wall hangings, a gorgeous tye-dyed outfit for my beautiful ( and very grumpy today) little girl or bake myself into oblivion with some amazing cupcakes and home made honeycomb. It truly makes you appreciate the world for all the fabulous little things that we as bloggers or as people can achieve and create. On days like this I wish that all negativity can be turned into something beautiful and inspiration can be passed from one person to another in nothing but perfect harmony. I am inspired and will go on to achieve, create and hopefully pay it forward.

Kardashians for Sears

Yesterday on Kim's blog she posted a picture of her, Kourtney and Khloe on the set for the shoot for their new clothing line for Sears.

I don't know about you girls but as a Kardashian obcessive I can't wait to see this clothing line. The announcement for this line came in January with the launch of the Kardashian Kollection page on the Sears website announced in March.

This page allows you to sign up for news alerts on the fashion line and I did just that immediately. After seeing what the girls came up with for their KDash for QVC I absolutely cannot wait until the Kardashian Kollection finally gets released for sale in August.

These girls have literally turned 15 minutes of fame into a serious multimillion dollar business. Last year it was reported that between all the members of the Kardashian family, they brought in $65 million dollars in 2010. Having built up modelling portfolios, magazine covers, the 6th season of their family reality show starting soon, 3 spin off series, Clothing Lines, Shoe Lines, Bikini Lines, Perfumes, Sponsorship deals, Endorsement deals amongst other things, a novel to be released and also their new collaboration with OPI coming for the holidays this year,

The girls have redefined what it means to be entrepreneurs and moguls. There 15 minutes doesn't look like it's going to end anytime soon. I am ridiculously inspired by these ladies for many reasons, their fashion style and personal closets are enough to make me reach for the stars and do exactly what I want to do in life to achieve something to compare to these ladies. I guess that's what makes them likable, they've done so much and have remained so close as a family.  What do you think? Do you like the Kardashians as people and for their style? Are you inspired or tired? Are ya'll looking out for the Kollection?
