LOVE, WANT, NEED, HAVE TO HAVE

For my LOVE, WANT, NEED, HAVE TO HAVE post for this week I have chosen this Oh So Amazing dress from Jen's Pirate Booty. I am totally in holiday mode at the moment when it comes to my choices for Spring Summer as my husband and I have booked our Summer Holiday. Everything I am buying or lusting after has to fit into my holiday wardrobe somehow whether for beach or bar. I have been in love with this label for a couple of years now ever since I saw of piece of theirs on One Tree Hill. Their bohemian aesthetic and wearable styles fit both my personality and style perfectly. I don't think I have seen a piece yet that I don't adore. Worn by all those Bohemian Style Stars the label has gained quite a few followers and has been spotted on everyone from Alessandra Ambrosio to Ashley Tisdale and Vanessa Hudgens, who is a big fan.

 

The brand is available from many online outlets but this one in particular I found on The Trend Boutique and happens to be on sale at the moment, for $104.99. Always a plus! I am so completely obsessed with this dusky rose colour, it's probably my favourite colour to wear. I am hoping that this will be one of the pieces squeezed into my suitcase (which no doubt will be overflowing) come holiday time.

My Little girl asked me the other day what a dream was. This is the first answer that came to my mind. I couldn't explain it any other way to a 3 year old that would have made sense to her. To me however, a dream is slightly more complex. I was searching through my blog roll today and as always came upon Spell and the Gypsy. I have previously posted about this blog and I am sure that I will do so again. I am so inspired by this blog and this post is no different. The picture immediately caught my eye and brought my daughter's question straight back into my mind.

I consider myself a dreamer. I always have been. Dreaming of how I think life should be, dreaming of the future, dreaming of when things may be a little better. I feel like sometimes my mind doesn't make sense and that my living in my dreams and in the future is disrupting my present. Not living for the moment, the day and all that. This picture on Spell and the Gypsy spoke right to my dreams. The feeling of freedom. The peace of mind. That deep breath that I take when I see a picture that speaks to me like this. I can't really explain it, what it really is. A dream for things to be like it is in this picture. Organic (not in the food sense), free, easy, to know who you are in life and where you're going, not just having an idea of where you want to end up. I worry sometimes that I am lost. I don't know who "I" am anymore. That I've lost my path and I am unsure of how to find it again. I need to live more for today, take it an run with it and stop searching for some ideal that I dream will finally make me happy....

Christmas Outfit Series ~ Stephen's Day

This was my outfit choice for yesterday, St.Stephen's Day. Usually a day spent relaxing, enjoying family and the gifts received or like so many out there, shopping the sales. Unfortunately I wasn't shopping the sales, I was working the sales. It was INSANE! I have worked alot of sales over a great number of years and I have never seen anything like yesterday. Pure Madness.

Christmas Outfit Series ~ Christmas Day

For my Christmas Day Outfit in my Christmas Outfit series, I have decided to put together an outfit the speaks about my style. From the boho feel of the outfit, the comfort factor, adding to the fact that all the pieces I adore and are, as singular pieces, each divine. I also put together this outfit with the thoughts of wearing it again as an outfit and also mixing and matching the pieces with other items of my closet in order to make entirely different statements. The Jeffrey Campbell "Litas" are still one of my favourite pairs of shoes around at the moment. When I talked a little about them in my LOVE, WANT, NEED, HAVE TO HAVE post I said that alot of my outfit ideas over the next few months and running into the near year would all contain these beauts. I haven't varied from that at all. I think in "Lita" style. It's quickly becoming a problem as I am yet to buy a pair :(
Anyway, here is my Christmas Day Outfit

Skirt Kimono, Top - All River Island
I love this outfit in its entirety. The skirt is a fabulous Waterfall style skirt with a shorter front and longer back. It's a beautiful colour which I can carry through to summer and it's a fab lightweight silk fabric, perfection! The Kimono is so beautiful. The flowers are like velvet and the tassels are divine. It really reminds me of a vintage kimono or even more updated, a Winter Kate piece. Either way, it looks way more expensive and designer looking than the price I paid for it. The vest top then is just a staple piece that is needed in every one's wardrobe.

Christmas Outfit Series ~ Christmas Eve

As promised, the next Post in my Christmas Outfit Series, Christmas Eve. Christmas Eve for so many is spent preparing the final pieces in the puzzle for the day itself, whether that be getting to the destination where you are spending Christmas Day, picking up the last few gifts in the freezing cold or wrapping all the presents and getting those little surprises ready. Whatever it is that you will be doing on Christmas Eve you know you will need to be comfortable, warm and feeling extra snuggly. Thus my Christmas Eve Outfit.

Shoes - Minnetonka Moccasins
I am so deeply in love with Moccasins especially the Minnetonka brand. I could wear these every single day of my life and be happy. I will be purchasing a few pairs of these, hopefully, in the upcoming months.
Everything Else - River Island
I love this outfit. If there was any complete outfit that could describe my everyday style perfectly, this is it. Everything from the beautiful jacket, the colouring of the jeans, the little pom pom on the top of the hat and the gorgeous snuggly cardigan, is me in a nutshell. I really wanted this coat but unfortunately by the time I got the chance to buy my winter coat it was out of stock, SOB!! I got another River Island coat instead which I am obsessed with.

Handbags TO DIE FOR!!

As you know my style at the moment is literally anything with a boho feel. I'm in ♥ with feathers, tassels and as the wife of an African Man I am truly partial to my ethnic prints, especially African prints aswell as this seasons MUST HAVE, the Navajo Print. While doing a little online searching a couple of weeks ago for my new wallet I came across some of the most gorgeous lust worthy bags that I have ever seen. I just had to do a post on these bags as not only are they Gorgeous but they aren't ridiculously expensive. I also know that my fabulous sister is going to just die when she sees these as they are just up her alley, so Ari this post is for you ;)

The Wayuu Taya Foundations bags are just beautiful. So colourful and vibrant. I also love the message behind the bags. Looking Forward

 One of the best things about Facebook for me is when you "like" one of your favourite brands or stores or celebrities you get sneak peaks of things to look forward to. As a massive fan of Winter Kate I always look out for all the sneak peaks and inside info that their facebook page shares. And this beaut arrived last Friday courtesy of Fabsugar. The Winter Kate Spring 2012 Collection. I could literally die!!

There is nothing, and I mean nothing that I don't absolutely love about this collection. The boho style, the floaty silk fabrics, the north African style prints and embellishments and the neutral colour palette. This collection from beginning to end is perfection. Even the styling, accessorizing and backdrop to the gorgeous model is completely spot on. I love the relaxed ethereal intensity behind the pictures, like the model is contemplating the roads in life. Nicole Richie is on FIRE when it comes to her brand and I for one am so completely excited about every season if this is the calibre of clothing that we are expecting. Looking forward to the future of Winter Kate.

Feather Fetish

I am having a serious growing obsession with feathers at the moment. As I have said before I love the boho look. It's probably the style that I am as closely related to and identify to.

I have always loved that hippy style matching feathers with angel wings and things like homemade friendship bracelets made from coloured strings and hemp rope. All things natural and very relaxed.

Since this year's "Festival Fashion" contained so many feather pieces I have been sure to stock up like crazy while they were available, buying items such as headbands and different jewellery pieces. I even bought one necklace in Penneys with the intent to make something different, special and entirely unique from it with a little customization. I am truly obsessed with the feather hair extensions and have been searching the Internet for months for the perfect set. If you've got a serious case of feather fetish like I do check out the unbelievably stunning Castaway photo shoot over at Spell and the Gypsy. I look through this blog for simple inspiration and I love the feeling of being free that is depicted from their photos. I find it very peaceful.

I'll keep you up to day with my feather fetish and show you my creations once finished. Are feathers something that tickle your fancy? (Sorry that was bad, but I couldn't resist)

Acessorize 70's Style

This trend is all about Hats, the Chelsea Boots, loafers and Platforms. Fabulous jewellery with feathers, dream catchers and the gorgeous mix of silver and turquoise. Things like fringing, suede and leathers are HUGE!! Lots of fur trims and ladies make faux is fabulous. Friendship bracelets have made a comeback and join agave stones and leaf designs. I used to make alot of jewellery like friendship bracelets and different things with seed beads when I was younger. Two Canadian girls moved to my small little town and brought all the great beads with them. While I was in my home town recently I went into the attic to see what still remained and I found what was left of my bead collection. Then while babysitting my uncles kids a couple of weeks later I came across a book of friendship bracelet designs which sparked off the interest again. Since then I have been making little bits at home for my trip this week. I'll put up photos soon of my creations.

I have included all the usual pieces here for jewellery and accessories but something interesting and a little different that has emerged for this 70s trend is the ear cuff. It's really boho, hippyish and uber cute.

I'm absolutely loving those headpieces. I love the look of long flowing beach hair with the some feathers peeking out and the "boho tiara", so cute. What do you think of the 70's Trend Accessories? Is the Ear Cuff something you reckon you could rock?
