Ballet Beauties

I know this is old news now but I've had this post sitting here for a while just not quite finished. As much as it isn't really news it is never too old to show some beautiful pictures of some inspirational designs. A celebration of beauty where designer collaborations are concerned. These collaborations between a varied selection of designers and the English National Ballet have resulted in some stunning personal versions of the Ultimate Ballet Tutu and Ballet Slippers. The costume pieces were auctioned off on the 29th June by a silent auction held at the English National Ballet's Summer Party at the Orangery, Kensington Palace.

See Vogue for the full story and quotes from the Designers. I was sure I wanted to show these pictures especially after focusing on the Ethereal Trend and doing a ballering like style skirt for my ONE X 5 and Ballet inspired outfit in my Special Spot the Style. Due to the crazieness of my schedule lately not all of my planned posts have gone up on time and some have even been scrapped but I felt I loved these pictures so much that I still wanted to go ahead and share them.
What do you think of these desginer collaborations? And what about those Louboutins?!?!?

Spot the style

Instead of Steal her Style for the Ethereal Trend I have decided to chop it up a little and change it to Spot the Style. At my Dad's wedding one of the Bride's good girlfriends was dressed in a beautiful Ballerina Style Dress. Totally Ethereal. She rocked it with a beautiful pair of pointy toed red kitten heels and a ballerina bun. It was easily one of my favourite dresses of the day and I couldn't resist asking her to strike a pose and be my model for a minute.

Unfortunately we had to run after the photo was taken as there was a little problem inside and I didn't get the chance to ask her where it was from. After a few drinks it then completely slipped my mind. I do know however she accessorized it with a Tory Burch Clutch which was fab!

If you want spot the style anywhere I'd love to know about it so send me a link to your blogs etc if you have a post up on the style.
Sticking with the runway and spotting the style on the highstreet, I have also found you a couple of designer inspired pieces at completely affordable prices.

Get your Chloe on with this gorgeous Ballerina Style dress from Love at Topshop for £34

And this gorgeous dress again from Rare Opulence at Topshop for £138 is a dead ringer for the beautiful Isaac Mizrahi Chiffon Dress on the left.
Like I said above I would love to see any more Spot the Styles for this trend and other trends that I have covered, so if you have an outfit of the day post or any other pictures of yourself or others rocking the trends email me the link. I would Love, love, love to see them.

Acessorize Ethereally

When you're looking to accessorize you Ethereal style you have to keep in mind the true meaning of Ethereal. It's about that dream like state. The world of the unknown and the sheer beauty of the real woman. Strip it all down. Bare essentials. True Beauty.

Always keeping in mind the ballerina style within this trend. If I was to wear this trend I would keep it free from any crazy jewellery. Maybe just a set of pearl earrings, pretty studs and a simple string of pearls or dainty chain with a small pendant. Same for a bracelet, very simple, small links and not overpowering in the slightest.

The earrings are available at Accessorize as is the string of pearls. The cute bracelet is available from River Island.
Wear with the ballerina bun, the ballet flat and pretty pastel makeup. Here are some pumps that I have found that really fit in with this trend.

The bottom row is available from River Island and everything else is available on Asos.
When doing your ballet bun if you are having problems getting the shape right or having problems in any way I highly recommend getting yourself a donut. I bought mine in Penneys and haven't  had any problems with it. It helps make that perfect shape desired and also for people with thinner hair it helps to make your bun the desired size. I've seen them in Claire's Accessories if you don't want to spend the big bucks but they are available from Salon Services, Terri Sales and any shop that sells hair extensions. I'm more than sure you could probably get one in most chemists too. Here's the Hairspray tutorial on how to apply them. It's always handy to have someone there to fix anything that you cannot see but it is fairly easy to do on your own.

In Makeup the pastel colours are a trend on their own. Take a leaf out of Rihanna's book and go for something soft and girly like the baby pink, lilac or blue. Mac brought out their Quite Cute Range in April

but they've moved on to Surf, Baby range now (J'Adore by the way). There are probably most of the colours still available at your local mac or See Mac's Fashionflower range. Or for a cheaper alternative Rimmel have their Glam'Eyes Collection.
Do you have any element of Rihanna's swagger, enough to rock the pastel eyes? J'adore the simplicity of a ballet pump, is anyone else the same?

Ethereal Highstreet Style

After a crazy few days I'm finally back on track and continuing with my Ethereal Trend. For me I think that when wearing the Ethereal Style you can achieve this look the easiest with wearing the few key pieces for this trend. The first being the dress, the second being the skirt, third being the body (leotard style suit) and lastly the ballerina pump, which I will cover in Accessorize Ethereal Style. For Highstreet Style with this trend you have a lot of options in which to rock the trend completely. When rocking Ethereal stick with floaty fabrics, tulle, organza and alot of muted tones, nudes and pastels. If you decide to go more towards the Ballerina side of the trend you can change up the colour a little if wearing a tutu style dress (think Black Swan). Either way look beautiful, lady like and demure. Here are some of my favourite High Street Picks

Dresses:

All of the Above are available from Asos. I just love about Asos, how easy it is to complete deck yourself out at just one online hotspot. It seriously is an obsession for me, as you have probably gathered by now. I've been shopping there for over 2 years now and always enjoy when I know there's money spare to spend on my favourite online store.

These 6 dresses above are available from Topshop, another amazing online store. What I love about Topshop online is I don't get charged the extortionate hiking of prices between sterling and euro that you find in the shops.

Fist two from left Asos and right Topshop

All Jarlo at River Island

Skirts:

Maxi Skirts from Left and centre Miss Selfridge on right River Island. Team with a pretty fitted top in light and nude tones. See the Chloe Runway pictures here for further inspiration.

Short Skirts all from River Island. Wear the short skirt as a Ballerina style. Pair with a body or a little cardi for a dressed down style.

The Body:

Play the style down with a simple body. Keep it ladylike and not to revealing. Think pretty ballerina. All above available from Asos.

Play up a more simple skirt with one of these more dressy bodys for a night out or more occasion wear. Left available from Asos, on the right Rare Opulence available from Topshop, also seen here.

I'm absolutely loving this trend and with all the online window shopping I've been doing for these posts I've realised how much is actually out there that's completely relevant to this trend. There's something so ladylike, demure and sophisticated about wearing this trend and the dresses available completely step aside from the club look and the body con styles and make a girl look like a girl again, elegant and lovely and for want of a better word, Ethereal. Do ya'll like the Ethereal look? Are you more club than Pretty?

Who's wearing It Ethereal

The Ethereal trend is a red carpet staple to be seen at the majority of Award Show Red Carpets year in year out. It has been catapulted into this Season by a few different factors. Obviously the Oscars red carpet will always have something to do with how the season's trends are going to pan out and this year with Halle Berry in Marchesa and Mila Kunis in Elie Saab both soft colours, tulle fabric, lace, and ethereal. Other factors that add to this trend are the major hair trend of the Ballerina bun which has taken over in the style stakes for the go to updo. With Rihanna championing the pastel shadows for her videos and photos shoots this is the third facet of the trend. The last thing that makes this trend whole is the Ballet flat, with Lanvin's Ballet pump being one of the only flat shoes that celebs will be caught in.

Mila Kunis

Halle Berry

Drew Barrymore
Dianna Agron

Anna Kendrick, Demi Moore,Rachel McAdams

Lauren Conrad, Rihanna, Taylore Swift, Fashion Toast (Blogger)

Keira Knightly has nailed it on numerous occasions

Jessica Alba
Blake Lively has said in the past that she dresses Ethereally regularly in order to make sure that she doesn't look frumpy. Somehow I actually can't imagine her looking frumpy.

Blake Lively
Rihanna
The Ballerina style and the tutu have also become hot favourites on Red Carpets
Chanel Iman
Selena Gomez

Jessica Alba

Mia Wasikowska

Blake Lively and Lea Michele in Marchesa
Kelly Osbourne in Marchesa
The Ballet bun has swiftly taken over this season on the red carpet as the go to upstyle. J'Adore. I have to say I have rocked this quite a number of times myself and I love it. Not only does it look super cute but it also acts as a mini (non-surgical) facelift which smooths out any wrinkles. Amazing!

Kate Bosworth
Whitney Port

Jennifer Lopez and Sarah Jessica Parker

Jessica Alba and Christina Milian
The ballet pump. Cute, feminine, comfortable and not high heels. What more can you ask for? Make them Lanvin. Perfection.
And the pastel makeup trend done so perfectly by Rihanna.

I have to say J'Adore this video of Rihanna's. She looks so amazing and truly beautiful. I only wish I could pull of the colours she's rocking.
So girlies do you like the ethereal style dresses. Do you think they should be kept to the red carpet only or can they be worn all the time? Do you like the pastel makeup trend or do you think that only Rihanna can pull it off?
