Return of the Tims

Like many others I was curled up on my couch last night watching the Brits. For one I love to watch music awards shows and the Grammy's for some reason have still yet to be shown on the pathetic channels that I possess, secondly I love live music especially when the likes of Adele is singing and getting interviewed. Her voice is amazing and she seems like she has the most amazing sense of humour (the finger gesture aimed at the suits). And thirdly anything and I mean anything the Rihanna is a part of I feel like if I miss it I will miss something important. As you know my obsession for Rihanna is a strong one.

So last night watching Rihanna's Brit performance I was instantly drawn to her outfit, naturally. A scruffy sweatshirt, some white denim hot pants and Timberlands.
Not something you would usually find attractive or sexy but to me, I loved it. I used to own a pair of Timberlands and literally wore them to death. I think there is something very sexy about a non typically attractive outfit and clunky pair of shoes. One of the reasons "The Boyfriend Trend" or Masculine Tailoring has become so standard in fashion these days. A tight white t, a pair of boyfriend jeans and a pair of high tops for example. For a few years now converse and vans have featured heavily in the wardrobes of so many, me for one and also those of my sisters. Store Collections have grown and different styles have been added and nowadays I don't know many people who don't own at least one pair of cons or vans. I have definietly noticed more of this trend emerging with high tops sneakers returning to the high street and celebrities rocking the sportswear high top with an everyday outfit. It's like a merging of Urban Sports/Utility with the boyfriend trend and tailoring.
Rochelle Wiseman rocked the trend last year wearing this gorgeous orange Zara Blazer with skinnies and these Nike High Tops.
I loved it when I saw the picture and I still love it now. This outfit is my style and definitely something I would rock. It's a perfect Summer in Ireland outfit. So in honour of Rihanna's return to the Tims I have picked a few pairs of shoes that are on my radar to rock this summer.
First Row both available from Asos: Converse on left, Nike on Right
Second Row both available from River Island
Third Row: Left Converse Exclusive to Office, Right Aldo
I also have my eye on a fab pair of converse from Foot Locker which are grey and purple with a Aztec print fold down but unfortunately I couldn't find them online.
And of Course not forgetting what this whole post is inspired by the Timberland Boot
Timberlands are available from various different outlets such as Asos, Office, Schuh and of course any Timberland stores.

What do you think of this emerging trend? A keeper for you or not?

Florals Finale

Following my Everything's Rosy Post this is the finale for the Floral Trend. I've covered the Runways in Trend of the Week, Who's Wearing It, Highstreet Style, Accessories, The gorgeous girls from The Saturdays in Steal Her Style and ONE X5. I've rocked the Floral Trend and will continue to do so over the course of the Summer and even into Autumn Winter 2011 as Winter Florals have graced the catwalks and are set to be a strong trend for the coming seasons. Stay tuned once I'm done with the Spring Summer Trends and I will focus on Autumn Winter with a few little stops in between for anything that I feel might be of interest.

I've rocked Florals in a Boho Look, A fab Paisley Printed River Island Jacket with cute little ditsy print flowers. Have you rocked Florals yet?

Trending

For anyone that knows me, knows and understands my serious obcession with clothes/style/fashion and that also i am not often in the position to afford the objects of my desire. so instead i copy, paste and save all my favourite items of the seasons and put together my "if i had the money" outfits. This blog is also a little extension of my obcession and another way to express my love of clothes.

So i think its super important to talk about the spring summer trends for 2011. We've all seen the magazines, stared longingly through the windows of our favourite stores and dreamed about our wish lists (well maybe that one is just me).
Basically the top trends standing out for me this season are broken down into
(1) Bold Colour within which colour blocking exists,
(2) Menswear (think your man's sunday best with a feminine touch,
(3) Urban sport/utility,
(4) Ethereal which covers ballerina style and most of the nude palette and pastel hues which have been released this season,
(5) Floral,
(6) 70's revival (my favourite) which i think would also contain the all white trend as Bianca Jagger in the 1970's made the white suit her trademark (pictured here in 1972 walking through Heathrow)

but again I this trend kind of falls under the same umbrella as the 70's revival.
(7) Last but certainly not least Sheer and Modern Metallics. It's alot to take in but broken down it reveals a fascinating bunch of clashing and truly eclectic styles. No longer do you have to sit under the single style tree, we can now embrace fashion in its entirity and change up our styles to suit our mood.

I will go into each one in more detail over the next week highlighting each trend, What it means for you and what I think are the best buys of each trend in both

high end

and high street

Summer Denim

So as the weather the past couple of days has me dreaming of warm summer evenings, the smell of bbq in the air with my feet up and a cocktail in my hand. so maybe a few of those thoughts are wishful thinking but it has got me excited about summer fashion. i am not a lover of the cold and the winter especially due to the fact that (a) i don't drive and walking everywhere in the freezing cold and p***ing cold rain pushing a buggy is horrible and (b) layers add bulk and to an already bulky frame i don't need any more. from the moment the first leaf falls from the trees in autumn i am already longing for summer to come visit again.

So with summer approaching thoughts of florals and frayed denim are popping into my head. as with high street and high end fashion denim is a huge trend this season. this season denim is coming in all shapes and forms away from the trusty indigo skinny from the jbrand jeans in major summer brights

to the whole outfit being denim from MIU MIU

you may want to go way craazy and do something fashionista yourself and im all for individual style by im stlightly more demure and i have to dress in babyproof style :) so for me my most important styles to rock for spring and summer are the denim jacket, the denim shirt and the denim cropped waistcoat and i will be wearing them all this summer with pretty floral dresses, prom style skirts and and ditsy printed vests and very possibly the old favourite the skinny black jeans.

Kolour Blocking Kardashian Style

So as today is Super Sunday which mean E! all night. Pure Fabulousness! Favourite night of the week. Starting with Mama Fabulous, Kimora and moving to those Fabulous Kardashians and then to Holly's world its a night of divulging in everything that I love, Fashion, and Food :) So in honour of Miss Fabulous herself I have done this post on a recent outfit Kim wore showcasing Kolour Blocking K style. I have found cheaper and more affordable options to emulate this outfit perfectly recessionary style.
