Wedding Guest Check list

As I have told you before in my wedding feature in the Royal Wedding run up, my Dad is getting remarried and the wedding is today. As a guest for a large wedding I think it's super important to look your best while still making sure that I don't have a dress the same colour as the bride and secondly the bridesmaids. I have been searching for quite a long time for the perfect dress. It's not been easy I have to say. I briefly looked into hiring a dress from an amazing little boutique in Limerick, The Ivory Closet, but due to lack of a car, time and money I decided against it. That being said I will most definitely be hiring from the girls at the Ivory Closet in the future and I ordered my jewellery from them so at least I'll sparkle in a small way.
Finding the perfect outfit for a wedding is a long and arduous journey. What style do you go for, what length. Do you get a maxi or a mini or even a midi. The few things we know for certain are we are going to be wearing it all day and into the night and we must be comfortable while remaining fabulous.

The dress I ended up picking is this one. I love it. The colour is Fab and the cut is flattering. It's from A/Wear. I will not, without a doubt, be without my Shapewear on the day and I hope that throughout the day the dress remains as fabulous as it is when tried on initially.

My shoes are Christian Louboutin, the petal shoe. Had to be done. These beauties were my present to myself when I had my daughter. They are one of my favourite pairs of shoes and I really consider them an investment and have seriously more sentimental value than any other of my shoes. They were also my first pair of Louboutins which is always something that stands out in my memory. I hope one day that I can pass these on to my daughter so fingers crossed she will have the same shoe size as me.

My Jewellery is a mixture between the Ivory Closet's jewellery line "Bellerina" and accessorize. All affordable and achievable for anyone. J'Adore sparkle, so for me a little sparkle on the day was a MUST HAVE.

My bag is Marc B from Asos. This bag is my go-to staple bag for nights out. It can be worn over the shoulder with it's 2 straps, the strap can be turned into one longer strap to sit at your hip and it can also be worn as an over sized clutch. For me a bag has to fit everything for a night out, the camera, the makeup for touch ups, my phone and purse and also a pair of flats to wear on the way home. This bag fits the criteria for me. I love the style too, the inspiration of the Chanel quilted bag. Can't go wrong

There you have my outfit for my Dad's wedding. What do you think? Do any of you have weddings coming up this year, your own or a friends/family member's? I'll let you know how it goes.

Who's wearing It Ethereal

The Ethereal trend is a red carpet staple to be seen at the majority of Award Show Red Carpets year in year out. It has been catapulted into this Season by a few different factors. Obviously the Oscars red carpet will always have something to do with how the season's trends are going to pan out and this year with Halle Berry in Marchesa and Mila Kunis in Elie Saab both soft colours, tulle fabric, lace, and ethereal. Other factors that add to this trend are the major hair trend of the Ballerina bun which has taken over in the style stakes for the go to updo. With Rihanna championing the pastel shadows for her videos and photos shoots this is the third facet of the trend. The last thing that makes this trend whole is the Ballet flat, with Lanvin's Ballet pump being one of the only flat shoes that celebs will be caught in.

Mila Kunis

Halle Berry

Drew Barrymore
Dianna Agron

Anna Kendrick, Demi Moore,Rachel McAdams

Lauren Conrad, Rihanna, Taylore Swift, Fashion Toast (Blogger)

Keira Knightly has nailed it on numerous occasions

Jessica Alba
Blake Lively has said in the past that she dresses Ethereally regularly in order to make sure that she doesn't look frumpy. Somehow I actually can't imagine her looking frumpy.

Blake Lively
Rihanna
The Ballerina style and the tutu have also become hot favourites on Red Carpets
Chanel Iman
Selena Gomez

Jessica Alba

Mia Wasikowska

Blake Lively and Lea Michele in Marchesa
Kelly Osbourne in Marchesa
The Ballet bun has swiftly taken over this season on the red carpet as the go to upstyle. J'Adore. I have to say I have rocked this quite a number of times myself and I love it. Not only does it look super cute but it also acts as a mini (non-surgical) facelift which smooths out any wrinkles. Amazing!

Kate Bosworth
Whitney Port

Jennifer Lopez and Sarah Jessica Parker

Jessica Alba and Christina Milian
The ballet pump. Cute, feminine, comfortable and not high heels. What more can you ask for? Make them Lanvin. Perfection.
And the pastel makeup trend done so perfectly by Rihanna.

I have to say J'Adore this video of Rihanna's. She looks so amazing and truly beautiful. I only wish I could pull of the colours she's rocking.
So girlies do you like the ethereal style dresses. Do you think they should be kept to the red carpet only or can they be worn all the time? Do you like the pastel makeup trend or do you think that only Rihanna can pull it off?

Breaking news

In following my last post about the super trio the Kardashians, Kim has just confirmed that she and her boyfriend basketball player Kris Humphries are engaged. After 6 months of dating Kris popped the question with a 20.5 Carat Lorraine Schwartz Diamond Engagement Ring. WOWZERS! Kris who plays for the New Jersey Nets picked out the sparkler with help from Kim's mum Kris Jenner, he said of the ring "I just knew I wanted it to be big". He made his proposal last Wednesday by writing Will you Marry Me in rose petals on her bed at her 4.8 million dollar Beverly Hills home. So Cute! Kim said in the People Magazine article "I didn't expect this at all. I was in such shock. I never thought it would happen at home and I never thought now."

Following her accepting the proposal the couple celebrated at a dinner with her family. Kim said to People, "Kris really didn't want a big celebration, but he had jokingly told my mom he'd be fine if there were mini horses there. Later that night at the party, my mom brought out two mini horses, covered in glitter, for us! It was hysterical!"

Now this is most definitely a wedding that I will be watching out for. I reckon not a penney will be spared and it will be truly fabulous and utterly spectacular. One thing is certainly for sure, she will be wearing the best of the best ( possibly Vera Wang who is a friend of the family and also designed Khloe's wedding and bridesmaids dresses) and will look stunning.

Kardashians for Sears

Yesterday on Kim's blog she posted a picture of her, Kourtney and Khloe on the set for the shoot for their new clothing line for Sears.

I don't know about you girls but as a Kardashian obcessive I can't wait to see this clothing line. The announcement for this line came in January with the launch of the Kardashian Kollection page on the Sears website announced in March.

This page allows you to sign up for news alerts on the fashion line and I did just that immediately. After seeing what the girls came up with for their KDash for QVC I absolutely cannot wait until the Kardashian Kollection finally gets released for sale in August.

These girls have literally turned 15 minutes of fame into a serious multimillion dollar business. Last year it was reported that between all the members of the Kardashian family, they brought in $65 million dollars in 2010. Having built up modelling portfolios, magazine covers, the 6th season of their family reality show starting soon, 3 spin off series, Clothing Lines, Shoe Lines, Bikini Lines, Perfumes, Sponsorship deals, Endorsement deals amongst other things, a novel to be released and also their new collaboration with OPI coming for the holidays this year,

The girls have redefined what it means to be entrepreneurs and moguls. There 15 minutes doesn't look like it's going to end anytime soon. I am ridiculously inspired by these ladies for many reasons, their fashion style and personal closets are enough to make me reach for the stars and do exactly what I want to do in life to achieve something to compare to these ladies. I guess that's what makes them likable, they've done so much and have remained so close as a family.  What do you think? Do you like the Kardashians as people and for their style? Are you inspired or tired? Are ya'll looking out for the Kollection?

Trend for the week Ethereal

Ethereal to me is floaty fabric, fantasy styles and beautiful pastels. It sparks images in my head of princesses and fairies and ballerinas. Super girly and super pretty. Ethereal literally means
1. light, airy, or tenuous an ethereal world created through the poetic imagination
2. extremely delicate or refined
3. heavenly or celestial

Fashion Toast

Style Bubble
So again this isn't necessarily a new trend for the red carpet but it played a huge part this season on the runways. With the release of Black Swan starring Natalie Portman the ballerina trend really took off. I've decided to do this trend all under the heading of Ethereal as to me it's basically the same thing. With the fashion trend of pastel makeup also adding to it.

The Wedding Dress designers in their Ready to Wear Collections definitely defined the trend and epitomised everything this trend stands for,
From Elie Saab

To Marchesa

And Jenny Packham all nailed this trend effortlessly

And Monique Lhuillier

Ethereal on the runways was versatile but everything had one thing in common, pastels, nudes, floaty fabrics, tulle and everything lovely and pretty. There were other designers who also did the trend beautifully such as Valentino Haute Couture

Giammbatista Valli

Even Max Azria gave their own unique take on this stunning trend. His print campaign is this trend in a nutshell

Even Herve Leger whose designs are usually seen on red carpets with Celebrities poured into them touched in the trend. It is a nice change to see HL a little more feminine and less overtly sexy

Other designers who touched on Ethereal as seen below, Erin Fetherston

and Anna Sui,
Anne Valerie Hash mixed the trend with her loose tailoring and menswear style outfits

Dolce and Gabbanna took all White to another level and brought it swiftly out of the 70's and into 2011 with their take on ethereal. Using lace (which will be covered a bit better through the sheer and modern metallic trend), broderie anglaise and modern cuts the designers gave this trend a new lease of life

The last few pictures I have a just various pieces I spotted through runways that fit into this trend completely but the whole show may have had a different focus

Zang Toi

Lanvin

Richie Rich

My favourite was Chloe. There is only one word for this collection in my opinion, Divine. Chloe's runway is the trend. Beautiful, soft colours and utterly feminine in everyway. Touching on the Ballerina side with the Ballerina buns and the ballerina slipper style shoes with the tulle tutu effect skirts. J'Adore

What do you think girlies? Do you like this trend? Will you rock your own unique version of the Ballerina look?
